Hurricane Milton Updates: Deaths & Hospitalizations Reported
Milton, a Category 3 storm, made landfall on Siesta Key, Florida, at 8:30 p.m. yesterday. Siesta Key is a barrier island located near Sarasota.
At 2 a.m. today, the storm's center was about 45 miles west-southwest of Cape Canaveral, with maximum sustained winds of 90 mph, indicating a Category 1 hurricane.

Poweroutage.us claimed that more than 2 million households and businesses in Florida were without power. The most outages were reported in Hardee County, as well as adjoining Sarasota and Manatee counties.
